What is Dry Cupping Therapy?
Cupping is viewed by many in the sports world as a beneficial treatment for sports injuries and muscle strains. It's believed to have been used by ancient cultures in Chinese and Egyptian medicine as far back as 1,500 BC and uses a combination of heat and cups to create a vacuum on the skin.
Tissue is pulled into the cup encouraging blood flow and separation of the fine muscle or myofascial fibres to release tension, improve blood-flow and encourage healing. Working the cups across the skin gives an intense massage, however they can also remain in the same place from around three to 15 minutes depending on your individual needs.
Cupping can be used in conjunction with hands-on deep tissue massage, or as a treatment in its own right. A consultation would be required to discuss your needs and suitability for treatment.
Jude uses the ancient traditional approach of applying alcohol to the skin and inserting a flame into the cup to form the negative pressure, or vacuum.
Jude used the Cupping Therapy suction cups on my quad where I have old scar tissue. It tends to get sticky and stiff if I don't look after myself!
I couldn't believe the range of movement I had immediately after the first treatment. The bruising is a lot less now and the effects last for months, amazing!

Is Myofascial Cupping Therapy For Me?
Cupping is an intense treatment comparative to a deep-tissue massage and may feel painful. Expect to see bruises appear where the cups are applied, however as you progress a course of treatments these usually reduce.
Bruising is normal and an indication of blood flow, so we know it's working, and these disappear after a few days. Deeper purple bruises tend to appear at the site of greatest congestion. As they've not been caused by an impact they are usually painless.
My clients who report positive results have presented with:
-
Frozen Shoulder
-
Calf Strain
-
Scar Tissue - Quad and Hamstring
-
Aching and Stiff Muscles
-
Tension
-
Headaches

I work at a desk and I often suffer from shoulder pain. I usually leave it too long before I do anything about it, then along comes the neck pain and headaches... you know the pattern...!?
Jude's cupping technique offers immediate relief and together with deep tissue massage I can keep on top it.
